How to track revenue across Stripe and Gumroad
When sales come from Stripe and Gumroad, the first job is to compare the same activity over the same dates. A combined dashboard helps you see both sources together; it does not make each provider's accounting definitions identical.
1. Connect the source accounts you use
In Revlane, connect a Stripe account with a restricted key and a Gumroad account with an access token that includes view_salesand view_profile. Start with the production accounts that represent your live business. Keep test or sandbox data separate from production reporting.
2. Choose one date range and reporting currency
Use the same start and end dates when comparing either provider's dashboard with Revlane. Transactions may be charged in different currencies, so note both the original transaction currency and your workspace reporting currency when investigating a difference.
3. Separate sales from refunds and fees
A sales total can include the value charged to customers. Refunds reverse some or all of that activity. Fees and taxes are separate components, and providers may report them at different stages of the payment lifecycle. Compare like with like before deciding that a total is wrong.
4. Check the first import against each source
Once the first sync finishes, compare a small sample of transactions in the same period. Check dates, currencies, refunds, and account selection. This helps identify missing permissions or source data limits before you rely on an aggregate total.
5. Use the combined view for operating questions
After you understand the definitions, a combined view is useful for questions such as which platform contributed more sales this month or whether a change appeared in one source or both. For cash received in your bank, compare provider payouts separately from sales activity.
